The Danish electricity market in short

The Danish electrity market can be divided into two markets: one for wholesale and one for retail. Market participants all act within their individual framework of responsibilities.

The wholesale market consists of 3 sub-markets, i.e. markets for day-ahead, intraday and ancillary services.

The retail market is where Danish consumers buy their power. It is Energinet's responsibility to facilitate and operate the DataHub IT platform.
