The Danish electricity market in short

The Danish electricity market can be divided into two markets: one for wholesale and one for retail. Market participants all act within their individual frameworks of responsibility.

The wholesale market consists of 3 sub-markets, i.e. the day-ahead, intraday, and ancillary services markets.

The retail market is where Danish consumers buy their power. It is Energinet's responsibility to facilitate and operate the DataHub IT platform.
