DEMAND ASSESSMENT REPORTS HAVE NOW BEEN PUBLISHED – POSSIBILITY OF NEW GAS INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS

Until 26 August, Energinet Gas TSO collected non-binding bids from users, determining the possible need for future development of the Danish gas system. Today the Demand Assessment Reports for both Ellund and the rest of the Danish gas system are published, both describing the possibility of new gas infrastructure projects.

Today Energinet Gas TSO have published two reports. One report specifically describes the Ellund border point, where the Inrcemental Capacity Process is legally binding. This report is written in corporation with the two German Gas TSO’s currently active at the Ellund border point; Gasunie Deutschland and Open Grid Europe, and foresees a further investigation of the capacity situation in the southbound flow, due to non-binding demand above the future capacity level.

The second report is written by Energinet Gas TSO, and describes non-binding bids for all other point in the Danish gas system, except Ellund. This report describes two possible projects and indicative timelines, one being the possibility to expand the Danish gas system to the Islands Lolland and Falster, and one being the possibility of a LNG project, directly connected to the transmission system.
