MARKET CONSULTATION ON THE CAPACITY QUOTAS FOR THE INTERCONNECTION POINT FAXE

After the construction of Baltic Pipe, the Danish and Polish transmission systems are now interconnected in Faxe. Thus, the point in Faxe is cf. NC CAM, article 3, subsection 2, an interconnection point and is therefore subject to the provisions of NC CAM. Energinet, in line with NC CAM, therefore, invites the market to comment on the proposed capacity quotas.

Comments should be forwarded to gasinfo@energinet.dk no later than 12 December 2022.

Energinet notices that NC CAM Article 8, paragraph 6 states that a quantity corresponding to at least 20% of the existing technical capacity at each interconnection point must be reserved and offered in accordance with subsection 7 letter b), while any other reserved capacity is offered in accordance with subsection 7, letter a).

Energinet therefore adhere to the reservation and offering provisions of NC CAM by:

a) offering 10 % of the existing technical capacity no earlier than in the annual yearly capacity auction during the fifth gas year preceding the start of the relevant gas year.

And;

b) offering a further 10 % of the existing technical capacity no earlier than the annual quarterly capacity auction during the gas year preceding the start of the relevant gas year.

It is required from NC CAM article 8, subsection 9, that the market must also be given the opportunity to comment on the above proposed capacity quotas at the Shippers Forum held on the 8th of December 2022.

Following the market consultation and taking into account possible comments, Energinet will then forward the proposed capacity quotas for approval by the Danish Utility Regulator.
