In accordance with the Danish Utility Regulator’s approval of the change in the gas balancing method from December 6th, 2021, Energinet has evaluated the overall performance of the new gas balancing model based on the first full year of operation. This evaluation report is now ready to be shared with the market.

The report evaluates on key aspects of the new balancing model herein, data quality, the smoothing concept, balancing incentives, market liquidity, and flexibility.

The evaluation report will be subject to consultation from March 6th, 2024, until March 27th, 2024, and it can be accessed in the documents section using this link Gas balancing model (energinet.dk)
