Lego and the Energy Island
The two energy islands in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea are being planned. But what should they look like?
In November 2021, Energinet hosted a LEGO event during the Electric City wind conference organised by WindEurope. Former LEGO Master participant Frederik Ankjær Normann Pedersen built an energy island, while professionals talked about the idea behind the energy islands, connection to other countries etc.
- No one has ever built an energy island before. So, it can be hard to imagine what it will look like. But maybe LEGO bricks can help us to imagine. The bricks invite you to think outside the box – just like we must do when we establish the energy islands, said Hanne Storm Edlefsen, who participated in the LEGO event.
