As part of a planned generational change, Peder Østermark Andreasen is stepping down as President and CEO of Energinet during the first half of 2018. Therefore, the Supervisory Board, headed by its chair Lars Barfoed, is now starting the process of recruiting a new CEO for the company.
Peder Ø. Andreasen has held the position of President and CEO since Energinet was established 13 years ago, and he now wishes to pass on the role to someone else. Peder Ø. Andreasen turns 63 in 2018, and a smooth generational change with, first, a new chairman of the Supervisory Board, followed by a new President and CEO has long been on the cards.
“Peder Ø. Andreasen is an outstanding President and CEO of Energinet. We work together extremely well, and I’m only sorry that we won’t have more time together. However, I’m delighted that we can ensure a good generational change where we retain all the positive elements that have been introduced at Energinet with Peder at the helm,” says Chairman of the Supervisory Board Lars Barfoed, who adds:
“The profile we’re seeking as a new President and CEO is an experienced leader who understands how to support all the company’s activities based on the strong corporate culture. The President and CEO must maintain a strong organisation centred on a high security of supply, and at the same time build on Energinet’s development-oriented strategy and focus on supporting sustainable energy, regional and European cooperation as well as digitalisation.”
Peder Ø. Andreasen is continuing as President and CEO until a replacement has been found, and he will also assist in ensuring that the transition is as smooth as possible. Consequently, Peder Ø. Andreasen is by no means ready to say his goodbyes yet, and all the company’s activities will continue with the same momentum as has been the case so far.
The job as President and CEO of Energinet will be advertised in the main Danish newspapers on Sunday 10 December, with the application deadline on 22 January 2018. The executive search partner Amrop is handling the recruitment process.
