Due to COVID-19, work on construction projects is carried out with special actions

Energinet’s construction projects will continue with several actions aimed at reducing the risk of infection in relation to coronavirus.

On the construction sites, special guidelines have been implemented to avoid physical contact, and foreign experts and workers are thoroughly instructed in the rules and guidelines implemented by the Danish authorities.

- Health and safety are always top priorities in Energinet and we take the risk on spreading of infectious disease very seriously. However, in a time of crisis, we also consider it an important social task to keep the wheels turning and do our part to support the Danish economy. With our construction projects, we can help preserve private companies and jobs during a difficult time, Henrik Riis says, CEO of Electricity Transmission, which handles the major construction projects.

Energinet is aware that the coronavirus will have an impact on the construction projects.

- Work is already taking place at a slower pace than hitherto because we have implemented a number of actions to prevent the spread of infectious disease. We accept that, but we try to minimise costs for our business partners and for society, Henrik Riis says.

Energinet follows the recommendations of the government and health authorities, and continuously adapt the internal guidelines to them.
